BCI is proud to be a leader in Australia’s electric bus market…

In April 2009 we released our prototype electric bus.

The bus has achieved great success on the international stage, winning the ‘Best New Energy Bus for 2009’ in the B.A.A.V. bus awards in Shanghai.

BCI's battery-powered electric adaptation of the popular PROMA bus is built with both sustainability and serviceability in mind. The cutting-edge electric technology runs completely on battery power and regenerative braking, with no other onboard power generation.

The PROMA electric features an ultra-low noise air compressor, integrated controls and easily replaceable modular designed batteries, while maintaining the high level of safety, practicality and style of its standard counterpart.

BCI's 100% electric / 0% drive emissions, PROMA electric brings possibilities for large scale carbon emission reductions to the Australian and New Zealand markets. 
 
It’s of Australian design with compact top technology, and has a unique lightweight U-shape chassis, designed for excellent safety and performance.

The powertrain system combines an ultra low noise air compressor and integrated controls.
The modular designed batteries are in 9 groups, and incorporate in total 672 lithium cells. The system, has been designed, so that the batteries are easily replaceable, to reduce off-road time for maintenance.

The design of the interior is of the same high standard, of those vehicles in the rest of the model range and an extremely neat and stylishly designed interior.

BCI electric technology can be adapted to several BCI models.
